Questions

Before you send a file

COMMON QUESTIONS
Q-01How do I send you a job?+
Use the request page or write to our address, say what the piece is and where it will be printed, and we reply with what we need from you.
Q-02What kind of file should I send?+
A print-ready PDF is the easiest start. If all you have is the open layout file, send it with its fonts and linked images and we tell you what is missing.
Q-03Do you only work with printers nearby?+
We are based in South Yarra, Australia. Artwork travels by email, so ask us and we will say whether we can take your job.
Q-04Will I see a proof before anything is output?+
Yes. A proof goes to you first, and the job only moves on after you have approved it.

SEC-PROFILE / plateprintusa.online

Plate Printico USA works between the designer and the printer: we take the artwork that arrives, check it against what the press needs and send back files that print the way they looked on screen.

Whatever we change on the way is written down and returned with the file, so nobody has to guess why a colour or a margin moved.

What happens to your file

PREPRESS STEPS
S-01

File check

Every file is opened the way the press will read it: missing fonts, low-resolution images, wrong page size and absent bleed are flagged before any output is made.

S-02

Colour preparation

Artwork built in RGB is converted with the profile of the paper and press it is going to, so the proof on your desk and the printed sheet stay close.

S-03

Proof for approval

You receive a proof to sign off before the job moves on. Nothing goes to plate or to the printer until you have said yes in writing.

S-04

Imposition and output

Pages are laid out on the sheet with the marks the printer asks for, and the final file leaves in the format their workflow expects.

S-05

A note with every job

Each change made to your artwork is listed in a short note, so the designer knows what moved and a reprint starts from the same corrected file.

These terms apply to anyone using this website. Use of the site means you accept them.

1. The operator

This website belongs to and is run by the company identified on our About page.

2. What you are looking at

This website presents a company working in plate making and print proofing for short-run jobs. The material here — text, illustrations and service descriptions — is informational. It is not an offer, a booking or a contract.

3. Illustrative material

Where this site uses illustrations, they represent the type of work we do and are not photographs of specific items we hold in stock. Availability, specification and price change, and are confirmed only when we quote them to you in writing.

4. Sending a message

A message sent through this site is an enquiry and nothing else. The site reserves, books and sells nothing, and takes no payment. Binding terms are agreed separately and in writing.

5. Ownership of the material

Text, layout and illustrations are ours or our licensors' and may not be reused commercially without our written permission.

6. Errors

We keep this site as accurate as we can and correct errors when we find them. Nothing here limits the statutory rights of a consumer.

7. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operating company is registered.
